SOLAR POWER
Solar power is the means of harnessing sunlight to create electrical power. Solar power is becoming a popular solution to meet our energy needs right at home.
Electricity
electricity comes from nonrenewable fossil and nuclear sources. Electricity produced by the solar cells that is not used immediately in the home is returned to the power grid. Electricity can be generated from the sun in several ways. In states such as California, with high electricity prices and government incentives, solar is already a bargain for some customers. Some are using less silicon, because electricity is produced only in the top layer. Solar concentration technology:A new mechanism for focusing light on small areas of photovoltaic material could make solar power in residential and commercial applications cheaper than electricity from the grid in most markets in the next few years. It is estimated that the cost of solar power is below the price of residential grid electricity for 5 to 10 percent of OECD consumption (200 to 400 TWh). Any solar energy installation works only when there is sunlight, which means that you need back up infrastructure which must be added to the cost of producing a kw of "solar" electricity. While using 100% solar power might not always be a viable alternative to conventionally produced electricity, it will certainly work well as a back up and support. Unfortunately, without subsidies, solar-generated electricity is still about 10 times more expensive than equivalent power from old coal-fired plants; four times more than natural gas; twice as much as nuclear; and three or four times as much as wind energy.
Hybrid
Hybrid Solar concentrators which combine solar thermal energy with solar PV to electrolyse water and should be able to deliver a sunlight to hydrogen conversion efficiency of 40%. Hybrid solar lighting (HSL) is an active solar method of using sunlight to provide illumination. Hybrid solar lighting systems collect sunlight using focusing mirrors that track the sun. Hybrid solar cells: fine-tuned for the available spectrum. Hybrids could combine the advantages of dye-sensitized solar cells and conducting polymers. Few people are going to buy a hybrid with 10% lower highway mileage than a non-hybrid, even if it has a nice, simple drivetrain. Of course the tax credit previously improved ROI considerably but our brilliant Congress decided it should only apply to companies selling token quantities of hybrids. However, plug-in hybrid electric cars may soon become available, and their expected battery-only range of 50 to 100 miles will be a good match to the output of the parking space sized panels. not more & available to any family use)I am now on final phase of development of this Hybrid system for domestic use power system.
